Join the Penn Intellectual Property Group (PIPG) for a discussion on how the open source movement has embedded itself into today’s technology-driven world. The symposium will begin with a keynote speech in which Mr. Keith Bergelt reflects on his experiences in the technology industry and comments on the future of open source. Following this will be three panels featuring thought-provoking conversations among attorneys practicing in various legal career sectors and other open source professionals. The first panel involves a dialogue regarding the implementation of open source licensing strategies and business models by key players in the industry. The second panel relates to the nature of open source software data security challenges and potential solutions. The final panel is focused on how tech start-ups and emerging businesses can use and produce open source software to successfully compete in the marketplace.
Event will take place in the Levy Conference Center at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Attendance is free. Lunch will be served.
