ABOUT ABOUT

Innovation and IP Assets: From Startups to Big Business

PIPG invites you to its 2016 Symposium on Thursday, March 17. This year, we will explore the multitude of strategic and legal considerations faced by businesses, large and small, in managing their intellectual property assets.

A discussion with Eve Saltman, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of GoPro, will open the day's events and frame the panels to come. The day’s panels will then begin with a discussion of the IPO and IP portfolio considerations of small businesses throughout the startup process. From there, the symposium will segue to a discourse on the importance (or lack of importance) of patents to more sizable businesses in the software and pharmaceutical industries. The symposium will conclude with a discussion about the proposed Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2015 and its impact on innovation. We hope the day’s programming will prove especially engaging and practicable for participants.
